Aerodynamics

THE NEW CC.01

Engineered with a NACA-derived profile, the Colnago CC.01 Cockpit provides a 16% reduction in drag compared to previous V3Rs models while maintaining optimal stiffness for sprints and accelerations. Its aerodynamic design minimizes air flow disruption, ensuring a smooth and efficient ride.

AERODYNAMIC DATA

-V4Rs outperform V3Rs in aero setup testing, with a 3% decrease in drag (equivalent to 13.2-watt savings) in race conditions and a 6% decrease (equivalent to 27.7-watt savings) with advanced aero wheels and Colnago Computer support.

 

HEADTUBE GEOMETRY

Newly revised shape integrates with lightweight fork for better tire clearance and cockpit compatibility. Enhanced stability and drag with larger headset bearings, no need for D-shaped steerer.

Stiffness

ACCURATE MEASURING

Our RDS (Real-Dynamic Stiffness) is measured through internal methodologies that simulate standing-on-pedals and seated positions, analyzing frame deformation and stiffness in various load conditions.

SPRINT POSITION

The V4Rs is 4% stiffer than the V3Rs in the sprint position, with loads applied to the handlebar and bottom bracket to simulate flexural and torsional stresses.

SEATED POSITION

In seated position, loads are applied within same plane of front triangle to replicate all-around riding. V4Rs is 5% stiffer than V3Rs in this instance.

Raceing Feel

ROBUSTNESS

New V4Rs improves crash worth of exposed parts, like redesigned seat stays, with increased aerodynamics and strength, reducing maintenance needs in racing conditions.

EASIER BIKE FITTING

Improved geometry for optimal performance in all sizes. Linear seat tube and reach relationship, optimized stack/reach ratio, and reduced chain stay length. Provides balance, power transfer, and consistent race feel across all sizes.

BETTER HANDLING

 

The V4Rs features an improved weight distribution, lighter front fork, and decreased overall weight of 56 grams. This results in better cornering and increased safety and precision for downhill riding.
